Betrayed by Lyndsay Harris

Lyndsay makes a friend in Tanya who is very needy and apparently lives a drama filled life. She needs to be the centre of Lyndsays life. When they both have 2 children Lyndsay doesn't have as much time for Tanya, so Tanya's stories of past and present abuse get much worse, then Lyndsay's daughter Sarah, aged 6, apparently starts stealing and then damaging property..her mother's, her brother's, Tanya's and Tanya's daughter's and then starts writing threatening notes. Her school decides she needs to be supervised at all times and then after rumours start among the other parents say she can't go to school at all. Tanya is the wonderful supportive ffriend all the time. Luke, Sarah's older brother notices and mentions that it always seems to be Tanya who finds the evidence of Sarah doing these things, Sarah keeps saying she doesn't know why she does it, where she gets the razor blades uses to slash clothes and curtains and the pills she puts in peoples pockets and bags and doesn't know where the money or objects she supposedly steals are. Luke points out that nobody listens to kids...but nobody listens.

It ends up all being Tanya. She goes to gaol for theft and harrassment. She never explained why she did it. After it was all over Sarah said she thought she was going mad because everybody said she was doing things she never remembered doing.
