Brotherhood In Death by J D Robb

But as Eve delves deeper into the case, dark secrets emerge that could tear the family apart. Edward Mira has friends in high places - and they all seem to be hiding something. As her investigation takes a shocking turn, Eve finds that not all victims are innocent, and that some bonds are forged not in friendship, but in blood.

As always a great read.  Good, interesting mystery but for me the star of the book is the relationship between Eve and Roarke.  A misunderstanding along the way but they GET each other. 

Now the long impatient wait for the next in the series.

Pushing The Limits by Katie McGarry

No one knows what happened the night Echo Emerson went from popular girl with jock boyfriend to gossiped-about outsider with "freaky" scars on her arms. Even Echo can't remember the whole truth of that horrible night. All she knows is that she wants everything to go back to normal.But when Noah Hutchins, the smoking-hot, girl-using loner in the black leather jacket, explodes into her life with his tough attitude and surprising understanding, Echo's world shifts in ways she could never have imagined. They should have nothing in common. And with the secrets they both keep, being together is pretty much impossible.

Yet the crazy attraction between them refuses to go away. And Echo has to ask herself just how far they can push the limits and what she'll risk for the one guy who might teach her how to love again.

 I enjoyed this much more than I had expected to. A lovely, hopeful ending. 
The situations the characters found themselves in were believable.  It had me close to tears towards the end, but all worked out.

The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey

Alaska, the 1920s. Jack and Mabel have staked everything on a fresh start in a remote homestead, but the wilderness is a stark place, and Mabel is haunted by the baby she lost many years before. When a little girl appears mysteriously on their land, each is filled with wonder, but also foreboding - is she what she seems, and can they find room in their hearts for her?

Is the little girl a real girl or is she a fairytale come to life?  All through the book my opinion swung one way, then the other.  It was a beautifully written, enchanting book  with a bittersweet ending.  It was sad that those who loved her didn't understand her and tried to make her fit their idea of how she should live.
