Kiss of Snow by Nalini Singh

The sexual tension between Hawke and Sienna is nearly explosive. Hawke doesn't take too long to come around to the decision that his wolf has been pushing him towards - pursue Sienna. It might take a little creativity on Sienna's part, but once he does; Oh boy. There are a few `almost' moments, where Hawke and Sienna's courting is interrupted by everything from injuries to Psy scouting parties to outright attacks, and you could feel the frustration, as well as the responsibility in each of those moments.

Hawke was the same alpha that I've always loved. The alpha who has feral wolves claiming him as their own alpha. In this dangerous war with the Psy, Hawke barely has time to set aside his responsibilities. So he never does. He and Sienna steal small moments, with the help of their Pack, and they don't give up on what they have together.

Learning more about Sienna, and what she has grown up with, what she's grown up expecting - to die before she reaches 25 - was heart-wrenching at times. And yet she always managed to impress me with the way she's managed to become such a strong young woman. She is absolutely more than a match for Hawke. But she's so much more than a perfect match for him, she's a fierce, beautiful, determined, resourceful woman that's not afraid to take chances with her heart, and will protect those she cares about, no matter the cost to herself.

There's an additional side story between Lara, SnowDancer's healer and Walker Lauren. It's an incredibly sweet story.

Dark Nights, Dark Dreams by Savannah Russe

Government agent Susan Chase (Sam) always kept her psychic abilities a secret. Now her secret is out and the C.I.A. needs her help. A highly classified all- female team of paranormal agents, Susan and her squad are now entrusted with the government's most unusual and dangerous assignments. 


The story was rather disjointed and the attraction between Sam and Bear not believable.  He has sex with her, then walks out the door. The next time he sees her it's as though he doesn't remember, but she can't wait to jump him again.  The he says he's not sure she's sane, but she will go to bed with him anyway.  He takes her doggie style and she's all worried that means he's into pain.  Sheesh!!


 Future stories in this series may be better, but I'm not going to rush out to find them.

Jewel of Atlantis by Gena Showalter

All Atlantis seeks the Jewel of Dunamis, which legend claims can overcome any enemy. Gray needs her wisdom to navigate monster-ridden Atlantis. But need blossoms into passionate love as they fight demons, dragons, vampires -- and a prophecy that says the bond between them could destroy them both.


Likeable characters, especially Gray who is very macho and Alpha but able to tease. There are Demons (very bad guys), Vampires(not so bad guys), Nymphs (all they are interested in is sex), mermaids (who knows what they want) and Dragon shape shifters (the sexy good guys).


Lots of action and well set up for the next in the series. 

Holloway Falls By Neil Cross

 "Holloway has secrets. Years ago he witnessed his wife's betrayal and his life fell apart. Now someone's toying with his mind - and the life of a missing woman, the prostitute Holloway pays to imitate his ex-wife.


There's a cop who has murdered and asssaulted any man his ex-wife has dated (Holloway), then there's the man who started dreaming of disasters, went a bit crazy, faked his suicide and started a new life living with Lenny and his girlfriend.  They all sort of became entangled in the abduction, ransom and murder of a prostitute who looks like Holloways ex-wife.


Sounds complicated, but somehow all these threads wove into an enthralling story...and I still don't know how.


Strange combination of characters and events that somehow come together to give a satisfying ending. 

Immortals: The Haunting by Robin T Popp

Random flashes of unearthly light. Ominous messages written on steamy mirrors. Assailants lurking in shadows. Mai's hallucinations are becoming a little too real - the last one almost killed her. She's faced ancient demons and rogue vampires, but this kind of dark magic is more powerful than any she's seen. Mai also senses someone else trying to help her, a dream walker who comes in the night to soothe her fears. And fulfill her wildest fantasies. But who is he?


He's a dreamwalker....so yes....dreamwalker sex.  Otherwise known as very nice dreams.  There were demons in this too, but they were icky ones.


A nice light fluffy read.

Spellbound in Seattle by Garthia Anderson

Petra didn't have a magical bone in her body, but it didn't take a crystal ball to see disaster loomed. With enchanted blood on her carpet, a house full of Merlin-wannabes unable to clean it up, a petulant cat, and houseguests scheduled to arrive, she needed a miracle. She got a wizard, a whole lot of unwanted sparks, and a man-sized hole in the middle of her living room - a hole into which her feline promptly disappeared. 


This book didn't do it for me.  I kept reading hoping it would get better. It tried a bit too hard to be funny.  The main characters almost had sex a few dozen times but the phone would ring or there would be a knock at the door....sheesh.


They eventually got there, and the scene wasn't well written.  No wonder the author put it off.
